need some advice

i've been trying to sign up for bettors but keep getting told my roi is too high to enter. lifetime roi is too high. i run races to earn 6000pts each day, i play exatas which generate extremely high roi scores, high as 3000%. would it be wrong to run losing races to bring lifetime roi # down so i can enter more bettors? not sure what to do. any advice? i trust your judgement... what about reset tab on stats page. is there a reason why it's there?....thanks

great reply

that was excelent! wish the trainers could be a little more open minded and see what a great idea you've come up with. maybe they're just too proud.
when i first started here, i was only interested in bettors. had no interest in trainers at all. my mentor suggested i check into it so i did. i'm glad i did. having a lot of fun at it. i'm not suggesting you do the same. time is not an issue for me, so i needed something more to do. this is a good place to fill some of that time. so i guess the trainers just are'nt interested. otherwise instead of complaining about the system, they would be offering ideas & solutions. oh well! i still think you should discuss this with puddles and get his input. it's just too good of an idea to let go by the wayside. ken, thanks again for your efforts. don't give up.

question:

were starting to get a few more new players. what are your thoughts on contacting them about raising entry fee. maybe welcome them and ask them for their input or ideas? i say if the trainers are'nt interested, we come up with some different ideas. your thoughts?

friday tourney

ken, i wanted to give you a heads up on a tournament i set up for friday. 350 pts entry fee with prize pts starting @ 860. should i give a notice to those who have been playing the bettors, or just let it go and hope they see it when they sign up? thought i'd set one up every friday and see what happens. i put a suggestion on forum this morning that players must agree to have their race cards with odds plus their winning picks posted with the tournaments final results. maybe even post all players race cards & winning picks. if they could do this, gamers would stand out like a sore thumb. gamers playing " here comes thunder" @ 15-1 odds would have some explaining to do. like you pointed out the other day, one of us having "logan" @ 2-1 and the other @ 9-5 would be ok. multiple account holders might have a little trouble getting around this. or maybe puddles could do random postings to keep things more fair to all. too many complainers on the open forum. problems don't get solved by complaining. wish they would offer ideas or suggestions instead. still not giving up.

hi ken

i got a PM from vanimo about doing something to make bettor tournies more fun & challenging to play. i told him you had some great ideas a while back. he said he wold contact you. maybe wecan get something done this time. not sure if puddles will be open to any ideas or not, but it does'nt hurt to try. i have an idea that might work[still working out details]. i'll let you knowwhen i get it all figured out.
good luck in your races. hope you and your family had a good new years.

Bettor Changes

I wonder if the coming web-based viewer will be able handle changes to the bettor tournaments without the problems of the download client. I'm not a computer guy but I would think that perhaps the reinstall issue would go away. Eventually with play, I would think that odds would fall in line for each player and hopefully a player won't be able to somehow reset his game. If that were the case, there is a possibility that perhaps a tournament card could be generated that each player would log onto so that all entrants would play the same race lineups. The horses would be the same but each players own past performances would be used for their play. Please excuse me for babbling but I just got home from work and am a bit too tired to think quickly. I saw your message and thought I'd reply even though I really haven't given much thought to possible changes lately. Let me know what you are thinking and what changes you think the web-based viewer may make possible. Ken
