Was fortunate to be able to see the fantastic Zenyatta win the classic live on our local trackside channel here in NZ. It was a performance that makes you realise just what an incredable sport horse racing is. In NZ we have enjoyed our own champion multiple grade1 racemare the recently deceased Sunline earn over $13m, but champions come along so rarely. In the US you have the privelage of having two Champion racemares in the same year with Rachel Alexandra's performances. Her win in the Kentucky Derby was remarkable and should not be dismissed as inferior to Zenyatta's in the Classic. We should all feel privelaged just to be able to experience this equine greatness. Both horses are a credit to the industry, to their connections and have enabled us all to witness and experience history deing made.
