About Me
I grew up in Decatur, Illnois, during my summers while in High School I did a summer internship at Hartley/De Renzo TB's. While there I worked on every part of the farm, from the training barns, where i learned to swim horses, pony, exercise, everything. To The broodmare/stallion barns, helping with foals, and breedings etc.. I also was allowed to work in the office, where i learned about book work, and all that good stuff.. after graduation Dean DeRenzo and Randy Harltey offered me a job.. I moved to Florida and spent 4 years working for them as there board billing secretary... I learned alot and worked with many great champion racehorses, I am proud of the 8 years I spent with HD TBs, they are def. a family to me. Always proud of what they accomplish.
The last 7 years i worked for Summerfield Sales.. When i first started i was just a yealring groom.. I spent my days on the hill, scrubbing yearlings, feeding turning out, all that stuff. I quicly was promoted to yearling sales manager, where i managed the horses exercise, feed, and people under me. With Francis and Barbara we made a plan and they left me alone to work hard and were proud of my hard work.. after the manager and assistant manager and the new manager had left, i assumed role as manager at Summerfield, where i also helped in foalings, teasing, breedings, sale prep, managing horses, employees, feed and supplies, vet work etc.. In my 7 years at Summerfield we only lost one horse a foal that had been kicked by a mare.. the last 3 years at summerfield i worked part time in the office doing bloodstock work, buying seasons for clients, and helping get ready for the sales..
I am currently living in North Dakota, While i dont breed Thoroughbreds or have much involvement in racing, I sitll love the sport, I breed reining horses now. And have a budding breeding facility. Im very proud of it.
Horses are my life and I enjoy every aspect of the horse world.
