Alpha will face off with Gemologist and six other horses in the $1 million Wood Memorial at Aqueduct on Saturday. Alpha won the Withers last out by 3 ¼ lengths and is looking for three straight. Gemologist is an undefeated four for four and is coming off a big 7 length win in a Gulfstream Park allowance race. Prior to that he won the Grade 2 Kentucky Jockey Club last November. My Adonis could make some noise and most recently got second in the Grade 3 Gotham Stakes. The Lumber Guy will be on the lead and is a perfect two for two winning his maiden and then the $76,000 Miracle Wood by 9 ¼ and 4 ¼ lengths, respectively. Teeth of the Dog, Tiger Walk, Casual Trick and Street Life round out the field.
