The $200,000 Strub Stakes over 1 1/8 miles for 4-year-olds at Santa Anita on Saturday features Grade 2 San Fernando winner Tapizar, who will go favored. He easily won the San Fernando on the front end last time, beating Balladry and Prayer for Relief by about 3 1/2 lengths, who will take him on one more time. Tapizar will have to regress in order for them to turn the tables on him. Ultimate Eagle finished third in the Grade 2 Sir Beaufort last out but prior to that won four straight, including the Grade 1 Hollywood Derby on the grass. He tries natural dirt for the first time and if he takes to it, he could be a threat to the favorite. Jaycito draws the rail and his last victory came as a 2-year old in the Grade 1 Norfolk. Indian Winter, Clubhouse Ride, and Beer Meister round out the field.
