Teddys Promise likely will go to post favored in Saturdays $300,000 Grade I Santa Monica Handicap at seven furlongs on dirt. She has won three straight including the Grade 1 La Brea last out which she won convincingly by 2 ¼ lengths. Rumor, who has always finished in the exacta in seven lifetime starts, figures to be the chief rival to Teddy’s Promise. She most recently took the Kalookan Queen at 6 ½ furlongs here at Santa Anita. Big Tiz finished 2 ¼ lengths behind Rumor in the Kalookan Queen and is making just her third start in a year. Sugarinthemorning finished runner up to Teddys Promise in the La Brea and is going to have to step it up a couple notches to take down the favorite. Home Sweet Aspen finished fourth in the La Brea and is looking for her first stakes win. Bella Diamante and Shes Cheeky round out the field.
