The $150,000 Carl G. Rose Classic for older horses at 1-1/8 miles at Calder Race Course on Saturday has drawn a field of seven, headed by two-time Grade 3 Spend a Buck Handicap winner Mad Flatter, who is coming off a nice win in the Grade 3 Spend a Buck over 1-1/16 miles at Calder. Turbo Compressor could prove a threat - he won the non-graded Curlin stakes at Saratoga with a 101 Beyer Figure. He has finished out of the money in his last two. but if he runs to his potential, he could be dangerous. Manicero has an 8 for 12 lifetime record and knows how to win. This year he has won two stakes races at Calder including one on the turf. Decaf Again and Mimito Boy are coming off nice allowance wins and will try to prove their worth in stakes company. The Best Glacier draws the inside post and back in September registered a nice 5-length allowance race win, so he has shown potential. Too Experience rounds out the field.
