Saturdays Grade 3, $100,000 Bold Ruler Handicap is the last graded stakes of the Belmont Park fall meet and is headed by Caixa Electronica who was last seen finishing third in the Grade 1 Vosburgh. He draws the rail and is primed for a big effort. His stable mate Calibrachoa didn’t fare well in the Vosburgh but prior to that ran a big race finishing third in the Grade 1 A.G. Vanderbilt. The race also features Rodman who has lost four straight, but put forth a solid fourth place finish in the very challenging Grade 1 Jockey Club Gold Cup last out. Justin Philip finished third in the Grade 1 King’s Bishop two back before performing poorly in the Vosburgh – he hopes to get back to the form that saw him win the Grade 2 Woody Stephens earlier this summer. Sangaree is coming off a neck loss in a non-graded stakes, but did earn a 104 Speed Figure which puts him in contention. Rule By Night hasn’t had much success in stakes company and is stepping up off a nice non-graded stakes win. Uptowncharleybrown, Flat Bold, J Js Lucky Train complete the lineup.
