The Factor will face five other competitors in the Grade 1 Ancient Title on Saturday October 8 at Santa Anita Park. The Factor is the heavy favorite and was last seen taking the Grade 2 Pat O Brien at Del Mar on August 28. The main threat might be Amazombie who won the Grade 3 Los Angeles Handicap sprint back in may before finishing third in both the Grade 1 Triple Bend and Bing Crosby. He has yet to win a Grade 1, but in his last eleven starts he has six wins and has finished in the money in all of them. Mensa Heat draws the outside and is on a three race win streak, his last win coming in the non-graded Pirates Bounty at Del Mar, but now he steps up to top level competition. Irrefutable finished sixth to above said Mensa Heat but he did steady early in that race so might have done better had he avoided trouble. Square Eddie and Sirocco Strike will be long-shots here.
