Saratogas $500,000, Grade I TVG Alabama Stakes at 1¼ miles Saturday attracted a small but talented field of six entrants, and among them are Plum Pretty and St. John's River, the one-two finishers in the Kentucky Oaks. It also features Its Tricky, who battled all the way to the wire with Plum Pretty in the Grade 1 Coaching Club American Oaks before getting the nod. Inglorious breaks from the outside and is actually coming in with the best last race Beyer Speed Figure of 99, but it was on the Woodbine synthetic track, and she is not proven at this level on dirt yet. Royal Delta won the Black Eyed Susan Stakes back in May before running a distant third behind Its Tricky and Plum Pretty in the Coaching Club American Oaks. Pinch Pie rounds out the field.
