Treasure Beach is a very accomplished European 3-year-old and will contest the Grade 1, $400,000 Secretariat Stakes as the likely favorite. He won the Group 1 Irish Derby and will be tough to beat. Banned is a neck away from having won his third straight, but finished second by a neck in the Virginia Derby. Prior to that he won the American Turf and Jefferson Cup. Willcox Inn is in top form right now with two consecutive wins at Arlington Park. He won the Arlington Classic by more than two lengths and the American Derby by four. Casino Host, Newsdad, and French invader Ziyarid could also figure as contenders. Ziyarad is on a three race win streak and hopes to make it four. Casino Host flopped over a yielding Belmont course two starts ago, but was third, beaten less than a length by Banned, in Virginia. Derby Kitten is not being talked about much as a contender, but he could be the dark horse here. He was a victim of two very slow paces in his last two races, the Lone Star Derby and American Derby and still finished well. The pace figures to be faster here and he may do much better than people think.Newsdad, Crimson China, Suntracer, and L\'Aiglon round out the field
