Sidneys Candy and Usual Q.T. will go postward as the favorites in Saturdays $150,000 American Handicap at Hollywood Park to be run at 1 mile. Sidneys Candy won the Grade 2 La Jolla Handicap over 1-1/16 miles on turf in course record time at Del Mar. Most recently he finished second in the G2 Mervyn LeRoy on cushion track and now moves back to his favorite surface. The Usual Q.T. finished third in last year's Breeders Cup Mile and most recently finished a fast closing third in the G3 Inglewood Stakes. He faces today the one-two finishers of that race, Liberian Freighter and Ryehill Dreamer. He was closing fast on the first two though and could easily turn the tables on those two - still he is winless in his last six starts. Stakes winner Goldwaki will be representing Europe. Norvsky and Leroy's Dynameaux round out the field.
