A field of seven has been entered for Saturdays Grade 2, $150,000 Sheepshead Bay Stakes at Belmont Park at 1-3/8 miles. Hibaayeb is one of the leading contenders. She shipped from England to Southern California last fall to win the Grade 1 Yellow Ribbon at Hollywood Park. She got beaten in a Gulfstream allowance race most recently as the favorite, but that was at 1-1/16 miles, and she wants more distance. Cheetah is coming off a win in an allowance race at Keeneland. Giants Play and Tarrip finished third and fourth, respectively, in the Grade 3 Orchid at Gulfstream Park in March.La Luna de Miel looms as one of the big favorites here. Though she finished fourth in the Grade 3 Bewitch at Keeneland, she may not have liked the soft ground over which the race was run. Her prior race, which she won over the firm turf at Gulfstream in the Grade 3 Orchid Stakes, seemed to be more to her liking. Belle Waiting and Choice Play complete the lineup.
