Paddy O Prado is coming off a six-month layoff to make his first 2011 start in the Grade 2, $200,000 Dixie Stakes, a grass race over 1 1/8 miles, in which he will be a strong favorite. He has never been worse than third on the grass and owns a Grade 1 victory on that surface. Grand Rapport, ridden by Ramon Dominguez will get some support, who has two wins and a narrow nose loss in all three of his turf starts, but still has a tough assignment going against Paddy. Eighttofasttocatch has won two straight and has run a couple of big Beyer Speed Figures, but those were on dirt. If he can transfer his good current form to turf well enough, he might have a say in the outcome today. Slews Answer is coming off a minor stakes win and has done nothing wrong in three career starts, winning two of three, and might be the horse here with the best chance for the upset. Even though Baryshnikov has raced 33 times, he has won five of his seven career victories in his last six races and is in great form. He is coming off only an allowance win at Keeneland over the grass but his recent form must be respected. Lonely Whistle, Pocket Patch, and Bim Bam round out the field.
