Eleven 3-year-olds go postward in Saturdays Grade 2, $200,000 Peter Pan Stakes at Belmont. Uncle Brent under Kentucky Derby winning jockey John Velasquez has two wins in three starts, but has yet to go beyond 1 mile.Prime Cut has finished in the money in his last five starts, including a game second in last months Grade 2 Lexington Stakes. Alternation was off a bit slow in the Grade 1 Arkansas Derby which produced Kentucky Derby runner up Nehro, and he did manage 5th beaten 6 lengths which might be enough to be competitive here if he can get off to a little bit better start. Adios Charlie took the Grade 2 Jerome last month easily but that was on a sloppy track; he is going for his third straight win. Newsdad has been running on turf and synthetic lately, and if he can transfer his nice closing fourth in the Grade 1 Blue Grass Stakes, he has a good chance. Joe Vann is looking for his fourth straight, and has won his last three races by margins of 4 lengths or greater, including a win in the G3 Illinois Derby most recently. Monzon draws the far outside and won the non-graded Count Fleet at Aqueduct in early January - he is coming off a three month layoff now. Longshots Bold Deed, Tap Attack, Beer Meister, and Isn't He Perfect complete the lineup.
