Saturdays $300,000 Santa Margarita Invitational Stakes over 1-1/8 miles at Santa Anita features likely favorite Switch who has won two consecutive Grade 1 races over this track, but they have been at seven furlongs and now must carry her speed an extra two furlongs, but trainer John Sadler is confident she can handle the added distance. Vision in Gold won the G2 Santa Maria last month with St. Trinians a close third in that race, and they face off here again. St. Trinians was the favorite in that race and if she can regain the form that saw her come within a half-length of 2010 Horse of the Year Zenyatta, she will be a force to be reckoned with here. Always a Princess demands respect as she was the easy winner of the Grade 2 El Encino Stakes in January. A month later, she won the Grade 2 La Canada Stakes after setting a slow pace. She will have to bring her very best today though. Party With Brando, Miss Match, and Hemera round out the field.
