Nine horses are entered in Saturdays $250,000 Hill n Dale Cigar Mile including Musket Man and Haynesfield, both of whom ran disappointing races in the Breeders Cup Classic. Musket Man also finished second to Quality Road in the Met Mile in his last one-turn mile race. Godolphin-trained Vineyard Haven and Girolamo are both coming out of Breeders Cup races, the Dirt Mile and Sprint respectively, and both finished out of the money. Pletcher-trained Bribon prepped for this race with a 1 3/4-length victory in the Grade 3 Bold Ruler at Belmont on Oct. 30, and he is hoping for a strong pace today. Friend or Foe looks very intriguing and is coming off a dominating 5 length win in the Empire Classic against lesser competition - he makes only his seventh career start and could be sitting on a big one. Half Metal Jacket is 3 for 4 at Aqueduct though he tries Grade 1 company for the first time. Jersey Town was second to Bribon in the Bold Ruler and third to Tizway in the Kelso, both one-turn races at Belmont. Soaring Empire, who rallied strongly from last to win the six-furlong Rutgers Stakes at Monmouth on Nov. 6, completes the field.
