The $1 million Grade 1 Woodbine Mile figures to be an exciting race featuring a full field of 13 led by Grade 1 Eddie Read winner The Usual Q.T. He defeated Victors Cry in that race by 2 lengths but Victors Cry himself is a Grade 1 winner, having taken the prestigious Grade 1 Shoemaker Mile at Hollywood Park. The Usual Q.T. draws a tough 11 post while Victors Cry gets stuck down in the 2 post which can help save ground but can also cause more traffic problems. Court Vision is the other obvious threat - he won the Grade 1 Shadwell Turf Mile last year before finishing a solid fourth in the Breeders Cup Mile. He hasn\'t won this year but has three solid second place finishes in three Grade 1 events this year, so expect Court Vision to be there at the finish. The pace will be made primarily by either Straight Story, Signature Red who is a sprint specialist, Woodbourne, or Grand Adventure. Grand Adventure draws the 13 post and could actually stalk the pace - he won the Grade 2 King Edward right here at Woodbine. Famous Name comes from Ireland and his speed ratings fit with these, and he gave a good account of himself in the Group 1 Irish Champion Stakes earlier this month. Smokey Fire has never gone beyond 7 furlongs but he comes off a nice 7 furlong sprint on the grass earning a good speed figure - distance is a question mark for him. Riviera Cocktail, Auteur, Zifzaf, and Crowded House round out the field.
