Quality Road headlines the $750,000 Whitney Handicap at Saratoga on Saturday. He will be the heavy favorite here and his last two performances will make him very tough to beat. However, there are some talented horses here such as Haynesfield who recently won the G2 Suburban Handicap at Belmont, and Blame, who may be the chief threat to upset Quality Road. Blame has won four consecutive races now including the G1 Stephen Foster at Churchill Downs in June. The Whitney also features the 2009 Kentucky Derby winner Mine That Bird, but his glory days might be over and an upset victory here might be equally as shocking as his Derby win. Musket Man ran a very good race in the Met Mile behind Quality Road, finishing second to him and losing by only 1-1/2 lengths. If Quality Road doesnt bring his A game, then Musket Man just might be able to pull off an upset here. Jardim rounds out the field.
