A field of eight go postward in the Grade 3 Los Angeles Handicap this Saturday at Hollywood Park. Cost of Freedom will go favored off the strength of a close third place finish in the Breeders Cup Sprint last year, and a very strong allowance race for his 2010 return. In that allowance, he beat Stoneside, who is entered here, by a 4 convincing lengths. M One Rifle breaks from the far outside and merits respect having won the Grade 1 Malibu stakes at Santa Anita last December. He was beaten 5 1/2 lengths in that same allowance race won by Cost of Freedom, but he was off slowly and being a frontrunner, the unfortunate start may have compromised his chances. E Zs Gentleman is ultra consistent but a little light on the speed figures compared to the favorites. Bet on Victor most recently won a second level allowance race but he hasn't faced this level of competition yet. Jiggly might be overlooked coming from Golden Gate Fields but he could certainly get a piece of it as his numbers are just a couple lengths slower than the favorites. Hiya Silver and My Summer Slew round out the field.
