A field of six will contest the Grade 2 Milady Handicap for fillies and mares Sunday at Hollywood Park. Third Dawn is the morning line favorite, trained by John Sadler. Third Dawn, Dance to My Tune, and Made for Magic all finished within a length and a quarter of each other last time in the non-graded Santa Lucia stakes, and these three are tough to separate. Made for Magic gets hall of fame rider Rafael Bejarano, and Third Dawn gets Joel Rosario. The connections for Made for Magic are not as strong. Wynning Ride is coming off of a sprint allowance win though she did finish a good third in the Grade 1 Coaching Club American Oaks last year, so she has some back class. Miss Silver Brook faded in the La Canada stakes last out, but did have a nice allowance win before that. She could be the price play here. Joffes Run was a competent type and actually fits with these in terms of her numbers on dirt, but she has not proven she can run well on synthetic yet, being no factor in her last allowance try over the synthetic Santa Anita strip. Still, she could improve, and is a bit of an X factor.
