Nine Kentucky Derby hopefuls will go postward in the Grade I $750,000 Blue Grass Stakes on Saturday at Keeneland, led by Tampa Bay winner Odysseus, San Felipe runner up Interactif, and Florida Derby runner up Pleasant Prince. Aikenite got beat almost ten lengths by Eskendereya in the Fountain of Youth most recently but does get Garret Gomez as his pilot. Aikenite still has only a maiden win to his name. Paddy O Prado comes off a nice win over the turf in the Palm Beach Handicap over at Gulfstream, although it was on the turf. However, good turf horses have been known to translate their form pretty well to synthetic surfaces, which they will be running over today. Make Music for Me most recently won a non-graded stakes over the turf at Santa Anita and did finish third in the Grade 1 Cash Call Futurity last December, so he will have no problem with this synthetic surface. First Dude has to find six lengths quickly, as that was the margin by which he was defeated by fellow entrant Pleasant Prince in the Florida Derby last month. Codoy and Stately Victor are longshots and look to be outmatched.
