Aikenite, Homeboykris, Jackson Bend, and Winslow Homer are all hoping to use Saturdays $150,000 Holy Bull Stakes (G3) at Gulfstream Park as a stepping-stone to bigger and better things on the Triple Crown trail. Aikenite and Homeboykris are the most accomplished of the group and already have plenty of graded stakes earnings in their pockets. Jackson Bend has won five straight races , all at Calder Race Course, but none of them graded stakes. Thank U Phillipe finished a couple lengths behind Jackson Bend in the FSN Reality Stakes in October, so he is hoping to be able to improve enough to turn the tables on that one. Winslow Homer showed enormous potential winning his last two starts at 2, including a 12 1/2 length romp in the slop at Philadelphia Park, but has yet to take on stakes competition of any kind. Aikenite finished third in the Grade 1 Hopeful and second in the Grade 1 Breeders Futurity before closing out his 2-year-old campaign finishing a troubled fifth in the Breeders Cup Juvenile. Homeboykris rallied to win the Grade 1 Champagne by 1 1/2 lengths on Oct. 10, but subsequently finished a badly beaten fifth in the Grade 2 Remsen and hopes to rebound to the effort which won him the Champagne. Piscitelli took the lead in the Breeders Cup Juvenile, and hung tough in the stretch to finish a good 4th, getting within under a length of the winner. Williams Kitten is an interesting one, having finished second in the Kentucky Jockey Club (G2) in his last race.
