Coming off of an upset win in the Breeders Cup Ladies Classic, Life Is Sweet will likely be the favorite in Saturdays $150,000 San Gorgonio Handicap at Santa Anita, but she has never won a turf race at the stakes level. She will have to vanquish formidable rivals in Diamondrella who has two Grade 1 turf wins on her resume, as well as Treat Gently who has raced respectably against the top European turf females. Lavender Sky finished second in this race in 2008 but her recent form seems to have declined, though she has a top trainer in Julio Canani in her corner. Cat By the Tale has finished third in her last two Grade 2 turf attempts and will have to step to show she is not just show material this time.
