In Sunday\'s Grade 1, $1,000,000 Pacific Classic, Rail Trip will go favored having come off a sparkling win in the Hollywood Gold Cup. His primary competition will likely come from Einstein, this years Santa Anita Handicap winner, and Colonel John who won the Travers last year. Parading has returned to Southern California after finishing fifth as the favorite in the Hollywood Gold Cup to contest the race and could get a piece. Close to the pace should be Mast Track, Misremembered (the Swaps Stakes winner), and Tres Borrachos, all longshots, and the presence of so much pace could compromise them all, still they are tough competitors and should not be entirely overlooked. Awesome Gem, Global Hunter, Informed, Richards Kid, and Song of Navarrone round out the field.

The The 2009 Pacific Classic horse race was made available to the Horse Racing Fantasy Community on Sunday, September 6, 2009. This race was held at Del Mar with a field of 12 horses. Informed, Song of Navarone, Rail Trip, Richard's Kid, Mast Track, Colonel John, Misremembered, Global Hunter, Tres Borrachos, Einstein, Parading, and Awesome Gem competed in this spectacular 1.25 mile race on a Synthetic track.
