Commentator will try to win his third Whitney Handicap (G1) on Saturday at Saratoga Race Course. He is the defending champ but he has always been a bit inconsistent, so you never know what you will get. We do know he loves Saratoga, but is he the same horse he was last year, that is the question. Moreover, 9 furlongs is about the upper limit of his talent, but this is not the strongest Whitney field. Macho Again won the G1 Stephen Foster at Churchill and Asiatic Boy finished runner up in that race, but their speed figures are a bit light. Smooth Air ran well in the G1 Met Mile. He has won three Grade 2\'s but never a Grade 1. Barclay Tagg sends out Dry Martini coming off a win in the G2 Suburban at Belmont Park with a 101 Beyer number. He has an outside chance. Tizway is an intriguing horse as he romped in an allowance race last out beating the 2008 Belmont winner D\'Tara by 7 1/2 lengths, he could suprise. Bullsbay will really have to step up to win this.

Smooth Air, Asiatic Boy, Bullsbay, Macho Again, Tizway, Dry Martini, and Commentator competed in this spectacular 1.125 mile race on a Dirt track.
