The Lone Star Derby (G3) is a $400,000 race for 3-year-olds. You must respect 2-1 ML favorite Mythical Power's consistency though he has yet to win a stakes. Cape Truth is not yet stakes placed but is coming off an Allowance win at Hollywood Park. Galloping Gulch and Red Lead are coming out of an Allowance race at Lone Star Park and at least have a solid race over the track. Bob Baffert brings in frontrunner Mayor Marv who won the Turf Paradise Derby though his figures are a bit light. Uno Mas has the most graded stakes experience and finished 3rd in the Risen Star to Kentucky Derby favorite Friesan Fire and most recently finished second in the non-graded Northern Spur stakes. Dumar completes the lineup.
