It's just too early to determine the top contender for this year's Triple Crown racing season. Anything can still happen.

With the way he has run
and being by Bernardini out of a Nijinsky II mare, I have to make Alpha the favorite right now.
Alpha
Alpha is by far the standout for me at the moment he is far ahead of Hansen and Union Rags, Algorithims had a big win but wont last the course. The Fountain of Youth will determine who the true favorite in that group will be, but Alpha is the standout for now!
Too early
I think that several good horses could still emerge for the Triple Crown. It would be nice to see a Triple Crown winner this year - there has not been one in a long time!
Triple Crown Winner....
I doubt this is the year but who knows. If you ask ask me there will be three different winners from all 3 legs.
Creative Cause
Creative Cause
Algorithims
i think it will b algorithims if any cause hes got good genetics. Seattle Slew and Secretariat are in his blood line
Prep Races
Will show a true standout. As of now, this season, has been up and down. No real 'crown' choice. I don't see it this year (yet)...definite contenders yes, but no dominate ones as of now. Then again, it is 'horse racing'!!!! Never know. :)
Don
Hansen
Anyone thinking Hansen can get a mile and a quarter and win the derby has no clue about horse racing. That horse, if it even makes it to the Derby, which is questionable, has no prayer.
I just made
a 6 horse xbox on the futures using Algorithms, Alpha, Creative Cause, Out Of Bounds, Sabercat and Union Rags.
Too early
It is too early to say who can take the Triple Crown this year with the races leading up to the Kentucky Derby just starting. But, if I had to pick one right now, I would pick Union Rags (trained by Michael Matz).

Have some issue with Hansen,
Have some issue with Hansen, Union Rags & Creative Cause. Trainers seem to be rushing 2 year olds to get to the breeders cup these days rather than let them develop at their own pace. Would not be surprised if only one of these three finish in the top five of the derby. Unfortunate trend in racing these days.
