About the same as the 2010 Belmont Stakes where we had no Triple Crown hopeful, as well.
36% (89 votes)
Less than the 2010 Belmont Stakes because this year's field of Triple Crown contenders is not that impressive.
24% (59 votes)
More than last year's Belmont Stakes because NBC is covering all 3 Triple Crown races.
25% (63 votes)
Who cares? With no Triple Crown hopeful, don't expect the media to give horse racing a big plug for the Belmont.

Results
The results of this poll are really astonishing. I never figured them to be this close.

I feel that the results are
I feel that the results are not really that shocking. My interest in racing has become greater and I had the priveledge to attend the Kentucky Derby.
Horse racings biggest fan.
Well, I'm not just a casual fan (been around for decades), so my interests of any of the Triple Crown races have always been something to look forward to. Granted, this year there was much disapointment. Considered a weak crop of 3-year olds. Keep in mind, however, they still were bred to carry the blood of Champions, that somewhere down the line will produce more Champions. With that said, we could think lowly of one of the contenders this year and honor him in years to come as being a great sire. The blood is there. The blood will always be there. Knowing that, I love looking forward each year to all of the Triple Crown races.
Polls
Poll results are only opinions and the questions can lead to any number of different conclusions. I do think that it is not good for the industry when there is not a clear TC possible winner in the race. The average fan of racing and even the passive one, must have a reason to watch the race. In my opinion twenty or thirty years ago, there were alot of fans that watched the race at the local track they bet on that Saturday. However, now there are just too many time demands on the weekends for the curious fans to watch. I only watched the recap of last Saturday's race, as I had school work to finish.
Many years ago, I would have watched the undercard on ESPN and made a day of it. There is nothing like being at the track for one of these events. Include any day of the week during August in Saratoga. But, the sport has to find ways to connect with the American Idol generation or the numbers of secondary tracks will decrease. Just an opinion of a reformed gambler that loves the sport---from here--working with fake dollars.

I agree with the need to
I agree with the need to increaes patronage nd interest. Most of my friends only care about when the actual race will be on, not about when they start showng the undercard races, which always interests me.
In fact, last time I had friends over to watch the race, they talked through pretty much everything until the horses were loading in the gate!
Interesting
