Skip Away

Skippy's versatility makes him the logical pick in this race.
His adaptiblity makes hm a close winner over Sunday Silence and the gritty Tiznow.

Skip Away

I ran this race as well and Skip Away won

Its not that easy guys

We ran the race 1000 times threw our simulation software and factored in the new track surface . This is tougher then you might think . Just like real horse racing you never know good luck

countvertigo's picture

Surprised

that Cigar has the most votes thus far.
IMO-Cigar might be the most overrated horse that is considered an all time great

almost a Triple Crown winner

He finished a close second three times behind Affirmed in the Triple Crown races. These were hard fought races with Alysheba closing fast at the finish, just missing. Without Affirmed entered, he would have been our last Triple Crown winner.
I base my decision on the fact that it is my opinion that Affirmed is better than any of the horses listed. With that said, Alydar finishing so close, has to be rated higher too.
Oops...................... I made a big mistake. I was thinking of Alydar. Not Alysheba. Sorry. Now for the change.
I like them all, but will go with the speed horse, Ghostzapper.

I don't think Skip Away

I don't think Skip Away would win this race in fifty trys.

Ghostzapper

I simply CANNOT go against the Zapster.

GHOSTZAPPER

If his profile in the game is his best race. Not sure how much the programmers will penalize him for his lack of experience compared to others in this field

Six ,two and even ...over and out

GUT FEELING VS RESEARCH

I just did a little research and i don't come up with Ghostzapper based on the info i just dug up.
But i am hoping that my gut beats out facts.

Six ,two and even ...over and out

Though this does not

Though this does not guarantee the outcome of a simulated race in this game, by any means, here are the "optimum speed ratings" for each of the horses at 10 furlongs:

Sunday Silence 128
Ghostzapper 124
Alysheba 124
Skip Away 123
Cigar 121
Tiz Now 117
Awesome Again 116
Curlin 113

I just ran this race on the old version

several times and the same horse wins every time.
I AM GOING TO EMAIL who it is to myself so it has a time stamp and wait for the inevitable result from the game makers

Six ,two and even ...over and out

I'd call Sunday Silence in

I'd call Sunday Silence in this one, with Ghostzapper a close second. I think Sunday Silence is one of the most underrated champions ever. The fact that he beat a monster like Easy Goer three out of four times, on very different surfaces stands as proof of his greatness. In any other year, Easy Goer would have swept the Triple Crown and BC Classic easily, and would have been a unanimous choice for Horse of the Year. Sunday Silence ran turns as well as any horse I've ever seen, and he was really fast and pretty versatile. McCarrons ride on him in the Classic was masterful as well. It's a shame both of those horses retired due to injuries early in their four year old seasons, but that's racing.

I agree birdzilla...

I think Sunday Silence is in a league of his own...He beat one of the greatest horses ever 3 times....ruffiano

Cigar

Early in Cigars Racing day's his trainer didn't realize where his true potential was. I Think Cigar was just a late Bloomer. A new trainer decided to race him on Dirt and then shortly after, Cigar went on to win 16 races in a row against some great horses. In his atempt at his 17th he lost by a head to Skip Away as he was closing fast. Later his Jockey said that he made a mistake and started him late. Otherwise he would have easily overtakin Skip Away and earned his 17th in a row. The only two Horses in this field that would give Cigar a run for his money is (1) Ghostzapper (2) Sunday Silence in that order. Ghostzapper was mainly a Sprinter turned Classic and would have been overtaken by Cigar down the stretch. I'm not even sure that Ghostzapper could have beaten Sunday Silence. As for thinking Cigar is overrated I'd think again. If Cigar loses this race it would be to Sunday Silence by a head.

countvertigo's picture

Not quite

Cigar's 16 race streak was snapped in The Pacific Classic after a torrid speed duel with Siphon.Dare and Go won the race.

No question that Cigar was great, but a notch below the top.
The only two Great horses that he ever faced were Skip Away and Holy Bull.
Cigar lost to Skippy and Holy Bull was beginning to move away from him before a career ending injury....

ormonde's picture

And the winner is ...Easy Goer

All right , all right, I guess I'll take Sunday Silence. ( the words stick in my throat)
