Is the excitement building up for the Kentucky Derby greater this year than in recent years?

It's hard to tell - the racing media coverage seems about the same.

It might be a little less because the industry is facing so many major issues, such as the New York OTB concern.

Definitely more excitement this year for the Derby because there are at least three rock-solid contenders.

I don't pay much attention when it comes to the pre-Derby hype, so I wouldn't know one way or the other.
