My vote
I was going to choose number 4 but I chose the blood horse because I access this site at least once a day and I am a subscriber to the magazine. This site does have a lot of information for the fan and if you click on one thing, you can end up clicking on other links.

For a common fan of horse
For a common fan of horse racing The Daily Racing Form has all the info you could ever need. From a handicappers standpoint I only use the Equibase speed figures for capping a race. And if i was a prospective owner or breeder then Bloodhorse would be my number one outlet for information. So depending on which end of the spectrum you are on they all have there place as the most powerful tool in the racing industry.
All information listed is
good for thoroughbred racing fans. But, I believe The Bloodhorse is the best for any one-from the casual fan to owners, trainers, and breeders. The information can't be beat. They are on top of everything thoroughbred racing!
Drf is good too. Especially for the handicapper.

The best choice for racing information
I chose number four because I am not old enough to bet so I am not familiar with the any of the books. I get my horse racing info from TVG
American Racing Manual
Love DRF's Annual American Racing Manual - The offical encyclopedia of Thoroughbred Racing. Contains all you need to know about the past year, and is packed with the history of all graded stakes winners etc. Nothing else like it. I look forward every year to it's summer release.
I also love DRF'S CHAMPIONS book, it list all the past performances of all champions in the 20th and 21st century. It last came out in 2005, and I sure hope they have a new udated version soon.
Blood-Horse is a great magazine. I subcribe and I love the many racing books they have put out through thier Eclipse press.
