Good amount of voting
I was really surprised with the outcome of this poll. I voted for number three because I know both horses have their running style and it will be hard to determine who will win. I know that Rachel has good speed and being a frontrunner, she will have the advantage but at the same time Zenyatta has that closing style and she can close fast. I believe it will be a close race.

Zenyatta is obviously the supirior horse,I mean Rachel is a very nice mare,but Zenyatta has the more experienced jockey,and she has more racing experience,Zenyatta truly is the more mature horse and will put Rachel in her place with this race.

Zenyatta wins no matter what. She has waaaaaaaaaaay more experienced and I think she deserved horse fo the year. Shes the best there is the best there was and the best there ever will be. nobody can beat her. Rachel is a nice filly but Zenny beat the toughest field in bc history(thats what i think). Rachel has run and won on all racing surfaces , she can rate, she's won in all kinds of weather. 'Rachel beat the boys 3 times at diffrent distances at different race tracks.
Zenyatta thrives on synthetic race surface, she doesn't like off tracks, but she has won on dirt.. Zenyatta makes one huge run in her races. Zenyatta beat the boys once at a distance everyone knew she can handle. Zenyatta is undefeated14-0. But, who'd she beat?
In my opinion, the crop that 'Zen and Rachel are from has no stand out horse- other than the filly and the mare. Both horses are Champions but facts don't lie.

when no horse stand out, that does not means the crop is bad is just that there are plenty good ones! after the finish line i will tell u for sure who is the best one!
Distance
At 1/18 mile this in a wide open contest. If it were run at 1 1/16 it would be Rachel Alexandra's race for sure.
Let us not Forget......
Don't ever think they could both be in the same race and can't Lose. Who you gonna call the Best THEN?. What if one loses it's so called "Prep" race?. Who's the best THEN? Who's the Best when NEITHER WIN against the so called "Group that can't beat them" but DOES . Anybody Remember "Man O War" "Secretariat" "Cigar" ? All just couldn't lose. But they DID. This is Horseracing ANYTHING can and WILL Happen. Let's just hope there is NEVER a repeat of the 1990 Breeder's Cup Distaff.

i truly wish that this race would not take place. both horses are marvelous. Zenyatta was retired, a champion. to bring her back now, to race her again, is purely for publicity for the sport and the owners, not for the greater welfare of the horse. i deeply dread a repeat of the Ruffian/Foolish Pleasure match race, and have no plans to watch this. if i could, i would plead with the owners of both horses to call off this nonsense.

zenyatta only runs on plastic, rachel kicked the boys ass 3 times all over the country. she also beat the girls by many lengths. what happened last year when zenyatta was to scared to come to the east side to face rachel in saratoga or belmont? opps.... i forgot that rachel won at 5 different tracks last year. oakland, fairground, churchill,belmont,and finally she beat the big boys at the graveyard in saratoga.

no i totally disagree with you, Zenyatta beat most of the colts Rachel beat, but she was dead last, she made up the ground easily, Zenyatta will show Rachel her place when Zenyatta passes her just as easy as she passed the colts in the BCC!
