Should Kentucky Derby contenders be required to race a certain number of times to even be eligible for the Run for the Roses?

The current qualification system for the Kentucky Derby is just fine - don't change it.

Ensuring that horses have a certain number of races to qualify may prevent some racing injuries.

There's a good case to be made for and against changing the qualification program. Either way would be okay with me.
