Points, Badges and Awards

POINTS

Like everything in life, the better you are, the most success you will have - at least in that part of your life. Our virtual horse racing world works the same way. I know some people will argue with me that money isn't everything - and I feel the same way, too - but for the sake of explaining how to truly get ahead in our virtual horse racing world, which includes our community and the Horse Racing Fantasy Game, let's just assume that money is power and power is what we all want. In our world, the currency we use are points. Points are obtained by general actions, but more aggressively obtained by successful game play while in the community mode. We'll get into that in just a minute. So, what do points really get you? Under your profile, a member will have two point totals. The first total represents total points earned from game play, community interaction and points you purchase (these are limited). The second number represents your current balance. Think of it as your bank account showing what is available for transactions. The first total is more a status - an indication, along with awards and badges (addressed later on) of your overall status in our community. Compare it to life. True success is not just measured by money (points), but by the things you've done for the community (badges and awards). Please remember the following: When you are accumulating points, you are doing so through two ways. One way is based on your game play results - for example, your jockey play and your betting play. Your points are displayed in several areas of the Community. Only a certain percentage (or limit) of points earned while playing the game can be used as currency. Currency points are specifically shown in the Community under your Player Profile. Please remember the following rules. The number of currency points that can be earned are limited on a daily basis. VIP Subscription Members can earn up to 5,000 points per day while in game mode. Non-VIP Members can earn up to 1,000 points per day. Again, these are currency points under your Profile. The maximum number of currency points you can earn per race as either a jockey or bettor is 500. It does not matter how many points are earned or displayed under your stats display, whether in the game or in the community. Statistical points - for bragging rights and leaderboard recognition - have no daily limit. This applies to both VIP Members and to regular game purchase members.

To earn points that will post in the Community and/or post as currency, you must be playing your game in community mode. Playing your game in private mode will only store stats in the game on your computer. The amount of points you earn per race as a jockey or bettor depends upon specific factors relating to the difficulty of either riding the horse and where he finishes (first, second, third or fourth) or the actual ROI of the bet when betting. The higher the ROI, the more points earned. Once again, remember that for currency points only, no matter how many points you earn in the race as a jockey or bettor, you are limited to daily totals of 5,000 for VIP subscribers and 1,000 for non-VIP members and no more than 500 per race.

What can I do with my points?
First and foremost accumulate as many points as you can and save those points for opportunities, which will include specific tournaments you want to enter or items you might want to purchase in our online store. Those items could be race files, horse files, horse racing memorabilia, gift certificates, vacations, horse race fantasy clothing and much more. Points can be utilized to either discount items in the store by offsetting some of the cash payment required, or if you accumulate enough points, you can actually purchase items in full with points earned.

When playing in tournaments, the one common factor or requirement all tournaments have is a tournament entry fee. (Occasionally we run tournaments with no entry fee required.) The entry fees for our tournaments are always paid with our currency - points (cash is not accepted). Most tournaments have various qualification requirements, which are tied to many factors. But, that's for a different conversation and all that information can be found in our tournament entry guide.

What are points valued?
The value of points are based on an exchange rate. The exchange rate will fluctuate up and down depending upon the number of points active in our community (in other words, the number of points sitting in a player's account, just like currency reserves). The more demand for points, the greater the point value. A typical conversion rate, which can fluctuate dramatically, is every 100,000 points has a $10 non-cash redemption value. Below is a chart displaying how players earn points in both the community and game mode and what actions are required to earn points and the value for those points. Please keep the following rules and guidelines in mind when interpreting our point system.

  • Players can buy points, but the amount of points they can purchase on a monthly basis is limited. Point purchase limitations are approximately $40 per month.
  • Players can use points in conjunction with or in substitution of any cash transaction within our community except for our VIP Monthly Subscription Service.
  • Cash can be used in our community to purchase everything except tournament entry fees and gift cards.
  • Points are non-cash redeemable and also non-transferable. There are no exceptions to these rules.
  • Points for players who are inactive for more than twelve months will automatically expire. No exceptions.
  • Specific purchases, such as our monthly VIP Subscription Service, purchasing of horse files or race files or certain online store items, when paying with cash may earn players bonus points.

Community Points

  • Setting up your user profile as a player will generate a one-time point bonus = 1,500 points (restrictions apply; see below)
  • Posting in the forum, commenting on blogs & stories, posting an image in our gallery commenting on pictures will earn you 10 points per action
  • Being an official appointed community moderator or community blogger (author) will earn you 3,000 bonus points per month

Points Earned Through Purchases

Purchasing Points
Purchased points are non-refundable

Game Play Points

The following in-game points are only earned when the player is in community mode and are not applicable in private game mode, no matter what membership level you have:

Playing as a jockey in the community mode, the player earns the equivalent value as the same points earned as part of the in-game scoring system. Please see the horse racing game chart below. Currency points are limited. VIP Members can only earn a maximum of 5,000 currency points per day and general game purchase members can only earn a maximum of 1,000 currency points per day. Please also note that playing as a jockey or bettor in community mode, no matter how many points you earn in accordance with the chart for statistical purposes, you are limited to 500 points maximum per event up to your daily limit for currency purposes. Statistical points will appear on your Stats Page as well as in the Community Stats as well as your In-Game Players Stats section. Currency points are only displayed under your User Profile in the Community.

Jockey Chart

  • Playing our betting game - players will earn points based on positive ROI from bets made for playing in the betting game while in the community mode. ROI is a determination of value or 'return on investment' based upon how much money a player has won against what was bet in the race. Please see the chart below for a complete determination of the ROI conversion on all bets wagered in a particular race. ROI is calculated by the total bets made by the primary user in community mode for a particular race. The same limitations that apply as a jockey also apply as a bettor. Currency points (community points) can only be earned when in community mode. Players are limited to either 5,000 currency points per day as a VIP Subscription Member or 1,000 currency points (community points) per day as a general game member. No matter how many points you earn from an event, you are limited from a currency standpoint to 500 points max per event up to your daily limit.
  • Winning Tournaments
Points earned for winning tournaments depends upon certain factors. Those factors include the number of tournament entries and the number of points required to enter the tournament, whether or not the tournament is restricted to VIP Monthly Subscription Members only or is open to all Members and the other parameters or requirements necessary to qualify for the tournament. Under normal tournament conditions, tournament prizes range from 250,000 to 100,000,000 points per event. Please see the chart below that summarizes how points can be earned in both the virtual online horse racing game and in our horse racing community.

    * 500 community points is the maximum allowed per a single race event as a jockey. Daily limits apply (only applicable in Community mode.) Points earned for finishing 1st is based on the horse’s odds and a multiplier factor. For finishing 2nd, 3rd and 4th, points earned is a percentage of that earned for finishing 1st: 2nd = 5%; 3rd = 25%; 4th = 10%.

    Bonus Game Points:

Each week, Horse Racing Fantasy may bonus players with community points for just running races (promotional event). The number of bonus points will depend on the promotion and your level of membership. VIP Members always earn substantially more bonus points than non-VIP Members.

    Points from Tournaments:

Winners of both player-initiated and management-initiated tournaments will earn Community points. The number of Community Points earned depends upon the number of tournament entries and the point entry fees. Each tournament will clearly identify the Community Point payout.

    Badges

As mentioned earlier, part of success in life is not money alone. Just like in real life, in our racing community, success can be measured by other achievements. Some of these achievements are known as Badges. Badges are status symbols and are provided exclusively from Horse Racing Simulation to our members who we believe deserve special recognition. In our world, a Badge is an honor. Badges cannot be purchased and cannot be transferred. Our Badge program will change from time to time, but below you will find the current listing of Badges and what they mean. Badges are easily identified and are directly associated with a member's username throughout the community, specifically seen under his profile.

    Types of Badges

    • Inaugural Badges - Badges awarded to our earliest members inside our racing community. These badges will go to the first 500 members of our community. We especially appreciate their dedication and belief in what we're doing and their effort in helping us improve.
    • VIP Badges - Badges awarded to players who become full subscribers to our program. VIP Badges indicate dedication and loyalty to our game and community. Members carrying VIP Badges are showing the rest of our racing community that they are serious about our virtual horse racing world. These individuals have a special dedication and are focused in maximizing their enjoyment opportunities that our game and community offer. VIP Badge Members have special access to private areas of our community and special events. They also have the ability to earn additional points based upon their community play inside our game. A VIP Member has no restrictions on game play, as well.
    • One-Year Badge - Any member who has been active in our community and has earned points on a monthly basis throughout a full year is awarded this badge of honor. These members should be treated with respect and looked upon by general members as individuals who have a good understanding of how our game and community operate. We thank them for their loyalty and dedication to our fantasy horse racing world.
    • Community Service Badge - This badge is awarded to members of our community for special services and contributions made that are recognized by other members. To qualify for this badge, the member must receive a specific number of nominations from other community members in good standing as a recognized individual contributing to the community. The nominated member will be reviewed by our forum moderators who will vote accordingly on whether to award or not award a Community Service Badge. Nominees are eligible only one time per calendar quarter.
    • Moderator Badges - Individuals who feel they have the talent, knowledge and patience to contribute to and help keep our community a fun and exciting environment can be moderators. Any member can volunteer to be a moderator. To volunteer to be a moderator, simply submit one-paragraph as to why you believe you can benefit our community and its members. Moderator positions are limited. We have the utmost respect for our moderators and give them the authority to protect the integrity of our forums and any other messaging center inside our community. Although moderators are not employees of Horse Racing Simulation, they are extensions of our goals, objectives and beliefs. Moderators are awarded with special bonus points and award opportunities throughout the year. Moderators are appointed directly by Horse Racing Simulation executives. If you have what you think it takes to be a moderator, please submit your qualifications to support@horseracegame.com.
    • Blogger Badges - Bloggers carry the same status in the community as moderators. In addition to their blogging duties, also spend a certain amount of time moderating specific topics where they may have an expertise. If you believe the talent to blog on specific topics related to either our Horse Racing Fantasy Game or horse racing itself, please send us a brief resume with your qualifications and the blogging topic that you would be interested in providing to our community. Our bloggers are considered our main voice to our community members, therefore, any member carrying a Blogger Badge should be considered an authority not only on our game or community in general, but on a specific subject or topic, as well. Although bloggers are not employees of Horse Racing Simulation and may carry their own views and opinions not necessarily those of Horse Racing Simulation, we treat them with the utmost respect as so should our community members because we believe that they believe that the topics on which they are communicating with our members and the method in which they are communicating are for the best interests of our community. Our bloggers carry integrity and are focused on educating our members on both horse racing and our horse racing fantasy world. Members wearing Blogger Badges are very few and should be highly respected. Bloggers, just like moderators, are entitled to special opportunities and privileges above and beyond normal community members including monthly bonus points. If there is a particular topic you feel you have expertise in and you are recognized as a member in good standing within our community, and have good communication skills, please submit a simple resume along with the topic you would like to blog to support@horseracegame.com. Your request will be reviewed by one of the executive team.

Bloggers, moderators and community service badge holders, although they have special privileges and functions inside our community, still abide by all of the same rules and guidelines as all of our members.

    AWARDS

Players who win specific tournaments can earn awards. Not all tournaments earn awards. Special tournaments that earn awards will be identified as part of the tournament prize package. In addition to tournament awards, members can also earn awards at the end of the year that are given to community members for specific achievements throughout the year. In order to motivate an active community, Horse Racing Simulation does not identify what area of action can generate awards until one month prior to the awards event. Certain awards are obtained simply by actions and the frequency of those actions. Other awards will be suggested by our members and then voted upon by the community, giving everyone's voice a chance to be heard.

Be active - be courteous and considerate - be fair - be helpful - friendly - supportive - and your opportunity for awards, which will not only include special badges but also special prizes such as gifts, trips, memorabilia, etc., will be more probable.
