Upgrading your horse is optional and not required. A horse upgrade opens up more opportunity and features of the game as well as increases your chances of winning more game points when playing in tournaments. Nominated horses are eligible for the following features not available to non-nominated (NN) horses: Insta-Tournament Jackpots, Insta-Tournament Super-Jackpots, general trainer tournament jackpots and general trainer tournament super-jackpots. In addition, any nominated horse that makes it to the breeding shed receives a bonus payout in addition to all the breeding benefits. Nominated horses also receive special game point bonuses when breaking track records. VIP members receive enhanced bonus payouts when winning trainer tournaments with nominated horses. Nominated horses also are allowed to race longer before being forced into retirement.
