A field of 9 go post ward for the Grade 3 Robert J. Frankel Stakes at 9 furlongs on turf at Santa Anita on Sunday. Halo Dolly has won three out of her last four races including the G2 Yellow Ribbon this summer at Del Mar. She defeated Vivo Per Lei by 1 1/4 lengths.
Since the release of the Yellow Trainer Tournaments, we have noticed several new trends – 1) new players are staying around longer; 2) they’re breeding new horses sooner; and 3) they’re entering other types of trainer tournaments to race against others. In other words, Yellow Tournaments are working!
I was just looking at some of today’s tournament winners and noticed something that deserves special recogniation. Fabfarms’ horse, China Dragon, has not only just won his third trainer tournament, but won his tenth race in a row on a sand surface. He’s won on the sand at distances ranging from 9 to 10 furlongs.

Grandeur has won 5 of 11 starts and most recently, finished second beaten 1 1/2 lengths in the Hollywood Derby Nov. 25 after rallying from dead last. Bourbon Bay finished second in this race last year and seems to be in similar form this year.
The $100,000 Grade 3 Sugar Swirl for fillies and mares three and up will be contested at 6 furlongs over the Gulfstream Park surface. The event features seven runners headed by Dust and Diamonds who finished a clear second to Groupie Doll in the Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Sprint and owns the field's only triple digit speed figure.
