I thought this was a good subject to write about because, obviously, being the last day of the year, it's a great time to look back at your accomplishments (or in horse racing, victories) as well as defeats, and evaluate what you've learned, what you've succeeded at and, of course, what you can do better. The fact that I won my third Kentucky Derby was a big accomplishment for me.

Throughout my career, I have been privileged to jockey some of the best racehorses around. Obviously, this year I was able to ride Big Brown – who took me to my third Kentucky Derby win. And even though I fell short of the Triple Crown in 2008, jockeying Big Brown was an incredible experience. I wanted to talk just a bit about some of the notable racehorses that I was able to ride last year.

Hey everyone. I thought I’d write a bit today about a couple of things – my background and some great tips I’ve learned throughout my years of racing. I was born and raised with horses – first for pleasure and then later as a career. All of my life, I’ve had a passion for the game and just an ultimate love for the horse.
