We have our horses an they are difficult to understand most of the time. Until you run them an make your assessment.
Answers you should have for each horse before assessment.
What color is your colt or philly?
How big is the horse?
What distance does the horse go into minus energy?
What surface does your horse like best in final race times?
What's your range of energy leftover after it's won a race?
Does the horse win the photo's for placing or lose the photo's for placing in races?
Does your horse run better at 2 or in a 3 an up race?
What placing does it get in a 20 horse race?
This is new an we our the ground breakers.
We are the chosen ones. :>
We have good infomation in the help section for training horses.
We have amazing info on our stable pages.
The tournament races ran are another good source of what's currently going on.
In time we will have even more tools or tricks in lasik an blinkers an whatever our great programers can come up with.
Be patient an don't worry our digtal horses love us an want to do us proud.

ModGraphix's horses are appearing in almost every race so far and have a total of 0 wins.
The same goes for the big stables of ronwar and dedewhale (although dedewhaele's horse finished second to a pool horse).
The stables that seem to be having the most sucess are dirkstar (Pee Shivers 2-1-0-1, Map Of Egypt 3-0-2-1)
and Jlow813 won the first Trainer race with Locked up and also won with Midnight Music. Only stable with two winners.
Another Surprising thing to me is the fact that no horse has won two races and only 4 of the 12 user winners are undefeated all with 1/1 record. Today, Locked Up and Saferwaters had chances to become the first 2/2 horses and Locked Up faded late and Saferwaters had one of the worst trips ever finishing fifth.

The more horses you have the easier it is to place them.
12 min 4 sec
The more horses, the more confusing if you ask me. I have 21 and I don't think I can keep up with it. I've entered most of my horses in races, but really don't have a clue if I'm honest with you. I couldn't tell which horse is where. I'm not sure when the races are coming, even with the email alerts I think I'm miss something. Hopefully our stable pages will develop over time and help us keep up with what we have. Now its a blur
My plan was to only stick with 10 horses in my stable, but breeding horses can be addicting :)
If there was a better way to keep track I would probably breed more, but now its overwhelming.

May they all come home safely!!!

I have my notes on my horses an ussually that puts me in the right races. Now to figure out the workout an placing to get the +2% everytime for each horse. lol I'm still planned for 40 breedings an keeping 5 maybe 8 if I think in time a nice 3 to 4 year old will go for big points in the sales ring.

I am completely new to this game and am still slowly figuring everything out. I made my first horse yesterday.....to put it bluntly, he sucked. I made my second horse shortly after (Rufftoslew) and am REALLY happy w him in training. I have raced him on all different surfaces and lengths with variable numbers of other horses too and he usually wins every time. My first tournament with him is tuesday and I cant wait to see how he does in a real race. I have also been trying to practice as a jockey.....im getting better at it. Well, I'm having fun so its all worth it and I am learning more for when I actually do visit the real tracks here in SoCal.
1 year 5 weeks
Did you try vetting the other one? As for winning every time well... do keep in mind the quality of the horses your racing against. Beating The Black Stallion is a much greater achievement than beating any old run-of-the-mill community horse, for example.

I will be looking for Rufftoslew soon then. :>

Thanks all.
Yes I did try vetting the other one.....no good so I just moved on. Im not a VIP so I cant race the black stallion but I think Rufftoslew is ok.....I wont know until I race I guess. I probably just think he is good and will get my butt handed to me in the race lol. Still figuring out how this all works.

Hmm.. those times aren't bad. Not bad at all. The little "winner speed rating" is the SSR rating of the winner. SSR rating is simply comparing your horse's speed to what a good horse might be able to do on that track on that particular day. The higher the better, however scores on "less than perfect" tract may make the SSR number inaccurate. Any horse that can run in the 100's on "perfect" (i.e fast dirt/hard-firm turf) is tournament quality, though there may even be a place for those less that as well. When running in the mud, the times your horse gets are a more accurate portrayal of his speed than the SSR. If you want some thing to use as a comparison, then run the community horse "Here Comes Thunder" on the same track and take note of the times she gets at the various poles. She is well known to be one of the best mud community horses out there.

When you say he is "not" a turf horse, are you saying that because the computer tells you so or because of results? The computer makes those comments based on assumptions only. You are the trainer, and therefore you know best-not the computer. That's why you have to run races on each and every possible surface, no matter what the computer says.
Based on those results, I'd say your horse is better suited to longer distances and not sprints. Why? He seems to speed up during the very last half of the race. Furthermore, in the races against Here comes Thunder you seem to either have two On the Lead horses where on is better than the other or a Far Back that is getting burnt out by trying to keep up with the lead horse. Try a longer race(by the looks of it he could perhaps be best at distances of anywhere from a mile to 1 mile 1/4 or beyond.), selecting 1 or 2 powerful On the Lead horses(Here Comes Thunder, for example), 3 average horses to make a "pack"(if you put it on "sort by recommended" then the average ones would be somewhere in the middle) and your trainer horse. Then, jockey him yourself, and try to keep pace with the pack. Then during the last stretch or so speed up to catch the leader.

There's a couple of points that I agree with in this thread.
More horse gives you a better chance of winning for finding a good one --> Absolutely
But, I find myself agreeing with Ronwar that too many horses can be too much to handle.
Personally, I like to keep things small and manageable. That gives me a chance to know each horse better and I am more likely to place it correctly in the tournaments.
Thanks 99 for the race records and time.

How many people have actually ran there horse's 143 times to find out exactly where they should be placed?
1 year 5 weeks
But, anyways, I usually wait till only 100 races before making any serious assumptions for two reasons. One-I don't really see the need to run a race at 9F if my horse can barely handle 8F(or whatever). Two-I haven't really looked into how any of my horses would perform at different ages, since I really am only interested in what races they can win as a 2 yr old. However.. once they hit three I will probably reassess what I have before entering any other tournaments.
2 hours 52 min
I agree with everything you stated there, especially the age thing. The only reason I would test age is if I'm not happy with the 2-year old results.
17 weeks 13 hours
But 143 would give each of our horses some run at every surface an distance too make a tournament or retirement postion.
The words of wisdom "States can't assume anything in horse racing until it's proven."
12 min 4 sec
That's very interesting 99. There is no way I could do 143 races for 20 horses. I usually just try to determine overall ability. So I'll try a few distances, a few surfaces. Then, If I like what I see, I will try to race them through their 2, 3, 4 year old season.
On anther note, one of the top three horses in my stable takes on a couple of yours tomorrow in the Racing at the Spa tourney. If Midnight affection does not break the gate and cruise to an easy victory I might not sleep tomorrow :) I have a good post, so there shouldn't be any excuses(except he's just not good enough) How do you feel about the tandem you have signed up for that race (Edgar Prado Handicap)?
~~~~~~~~
May they all come home safely!!!
17 weeks 13 hours
There my 2nd an 3rd rabbits. They won't win.
Midnight affection should see dr puddles for a jump or 2 at the half an win by 10 maybe a tad longer. Checker flag may run into your rear in the first furlong. If you don't win - I might not sleep at night. Actually your horse is my test. So good luck to us both.
1 year 9 weeks
MY highest speed figure with my Secretariat X Ruffian filly is 117...and her quality seems to be declining as i race her more...I've tried different surfaces...and her fractions are normally pretty impressive, but she just doesnt perform as well as she used to. Anyone know about retiring trainer horses? Maybe she'd be a good broodmare.
~*horsekrazee*~
48 weeks 2 hours
Best advice I could give you is don't retire her yet? Has she gone for any tournament races?
As for breeding from Trainer Horses, as I understand it, only the special few will be chosen by the staff. You could retire your horse and not be able to do anything with her.
Get her involved in more racing and see what happens.
