Horsemanship and Horseracing in the Philippines: YouTube Videos

It is sad that horsemanship has not been promoted in the Philippines. So far, only the rich and famous could join this fun and King of Sports.

In 1973, while I studied at the Ateneo de Manila University in QC, LHS, I had seen Nora Aunor's Impossible Dream movie.

Wasting no time, I fell in love with horses. So, as written in the La Aunor movie in the end, I called D'Rossa School of Horsemanship at Quinguia, Makati, beside Forbes Park, which is owned by Ang Tibay/Teodoros.

Bert Antipolo, the greatest horse professor ever helped me earn basic and intermediate horsemanship.

Fritz also taught me but his face was burned in a plane accident.

Then Jockey Timo, or Tim Teodoro had been teaching horse racing, but I failed in this, my only dream in life.

I approached Sta. Ana Park's dean, Atty. Flameno, in 1975, well at that time La Salle produced Com. Eduardo Domingo, Jr. but Ateneo failed to produce a jockey. Due to my honors-studies I procrastinated ... But I bought a mare, from Mara Inc. through Dr. Buencamino, the deceased father of Dr. Romeo Buencamino.

Then since L'Amour had been butchered in ABR Ramos Farm handled by Trainer Boy Barbosa and Mang Bato, I bought Wimps Pansy a quarter horse from Oscar Beltran in Bobby Aguirre's Paranaque BF Townhomes, Horse cuadra.

I rode these horses from 1975 to 1983 at Meycauayan to Marilao Bulacan 3x a week.

My shoe farer is Mang Dading of Sta.Ana's Araneta race horses cuadra where I saw Jockey Jimmy A Mamaril and Cl Bating.

Then in 1992 I attempted to ride again but I met George Stribbling and changed my mind.

On December 2000 to Feb 2001, I bought the entire racing paraphernalia of Jockey TP Bolante and rode the burikos at San Lazaro Hippodrome and Toma.

Then I rode almost all the Argentina race horses at Subic SBMA El Kabayo Equestrian Center under Bert Antipolo, Subic Olongapo Zambales Philippines, Jan to March 2001:
