Long time owner of the game. Have not signed up as VIP yet due to game being a little "glitchy" on my system, waiting around for some of the little "bugs" and "issues" to be worked out and having a couple questions about the many horse files that are now or will soon be offered.
For instance, I am primarily interested in all-time greats as they used to be known in original HRF game. I had well over 100 "ATGs" plus all-time Europeans and 70s, 80s, 90s bests. What I'm wondering is: will there eventually be an alll-time great file encompassing the many horses from prior game versions or must we continue to buy pre-50s, 50s, 60s 70s, and 80s-90s separately?
If the latter is the case, will we be able to combine all these files into one large file of champions? Also, I notice many former ATGs are not included in present files and expect they will show up later- correct?
I am a little concerned and somewhat hesitant about purchase of all these files which may be prohibitive for some of us, especially when considering the additional $9.95 per month in these tough economic times. However, I fully intend to join as VIP and get most of the horse files in the near future as I'm confident that Gary,Mike, et al will solve the bugs and address the issues I and others have brought up.
I know many files,tournaments and other benefits have been promised for members and realize these things just take tiime. We all have to remember this is a labor of love for the folks involved and not their full-time job or a great money-making endeavor. Gary has proved over the years to provide top-notch customer support and my experiences in the community show that Mike (Puddles) and Paul seem to be enthusiastic, willing and able to do their best to answer questions and solve problems.
Didn't intend this to come across as negative or critical toward this great game or anyone involved. I am enjoying the community horses and pre-built races, but do have some condiderations to weigh before I fork out my money. Looking forward to joining soon and interacting with everyone here.

Hi, and thanks for your comments. If you’ve been a long-time user of the product, then you’ve seen the evolution over the last year(baby steps). It goes beyond the $100,000 graphic interface, but also this great community loaded with rich content that is actually supported by the horse racing industry. Frankly, and I’m just being honest, for a horse racing fan I really don’t know where you can go to have this much fun for 30 cents a day. As far as the bugs and issues, let’s just say upgrade are on their way and when you construct a building, things only look better when the building gets taller every step of the way. In our horse racing game, we’re adding floors constantly. Some of the wonderful enhancements you just cannot see. They require a ton of backend work first before our users can appreciate them in this great skill action game. A prior game was for a single player or a few players around a computer. We’re moving into a world that’s much different and requires multiple player engagements. As far as horse files go, reading your comment “I know many files and benefits have been promised”, they are actually being delivered. There are now quite a few files for sale and expect some really cool additional ones to be added in the coming week and months. This is an ongoing effort, requires money, data and resources. Tournaments have already started. In fact, I believe there will be another 4 to 6 tournaments this week. And, the current horse racing tournaments in this great sports action game do not even require an entry fee. How can you beat that?
This IS my full-time job. I’ve given up a very successful career in advertising to pursue and build out this business. My partners, going beyond just Gary, are pouring in our hearts and souls to make this work. It’s a labor of love, but it’s also something that desperately needed by the industry. The files will be sold individually because, frankly put, it’s our only real revenue stream – that and the VIP membership program. A lot of work goes into building out those files, especially with what we have planned down the road. Someone else asked me (it might not have been you), can files be mixed together when building races. Right now we only choose horses from the community horses when you’re playing in community mode. By the end of July, you can pick horses from all your files when in community mode if your files fit the criteria of the race being built. In private mode, you can do whatever you want because the stats don’t report to the community. In privite mode you have complete control of the entries. Yes,you can have have match races from the best of one horse file against the best of another horse file
Please also note that non-VIP members will soon have restrictions put on their play. We cannot give away prizes, build out the game, pay the resources and not expect to generate some revenue. Even through a labor of love, everyone has to eat. Those downgrades are going to affect your past performances on non-purchased horse files, essentially eliminating them, which will affect your game play when strategizing as a jockey or bettor, specifically in the tournaments. Just a final thought - our community is growing very rapidly. We are running hundreds of thousands of races a day. Although there are a few issues out there, the overall feedback has been super-positive. We will continue to follow the lead of our users and their actions will dictate our direction. not did not come across being negative. I am not sure what the answer is about being able to combine horse files on your own into one file but I am sure as the game matures you will be able to do quite alot. They owners have been really responsive in adding features.
As for things getting pricey, remember this is one main reason to become a VIP. In the month I have been a member I have earned (and awarded by the team) enough points for two horse files which I did not have to pay a dime. If you are a VIP and can earn 5,000 points a day times 30 days that is 150,000 pts a month. That does not include tourneys. That is the way to get a free file and a half a month.
As for glitches make sure you send those requests to support@horseracegame.com They will look into it. Being a long time players since 2000 I dont see any new game play gitches that take away from any of the racing enjoyment for me.
I am truly having a blast playing and I know that signing up for VIP was well worth it in support of the team. I am getting so much value and cant wait to see what comes down the pike soon!
