I have been reading a lot about the number if low BSR's. I not sure how all that works. I must have pissed someone off a HRF or my horse and me are just that bad...lol. I challenge someone to beat this. I had 478 career wins before the new update came out. I now have 479. I have one race since the update. I realize that I am obviously not a good trainer however I didn't think I was that bad.....lol. Im not sure how many races I have entered since the update bit it has to be closed to 100. 1 for 100......not to bad.....lol. I challenge someone to beat that. I would really like to buy some more horses but it doesn't seem like the smart thing to do until I learn to train the 13 that I own now.

To Add insult to injury

I was only in 1 race tonight. There was my horse, 3 competitors and 2 pool horses. I programmed my jockey to slow down early. My horse tries to go wire to wire. He runs well and beats all competitors only to lose to one of the pool horses. I have officially given up at this point. I really like the game but it seems to have passed me by. Other than two horses I would like to keep. I can no longer afford to play.

*My apologies for the poor grammar and spelling in the first post.

Yes thats what you should do

Only keep the ones you like or the ones that bring back points. That is what I usually do.

I will Keep 3 horses

I just killed a 138, 127,125. I will get rid of all Restricted horses. I am going to keep these 3 horses.

!30.8 Bd Action Hero - (4 yr. old)

135.3 Bd Laser Bull (2 yr. olf) Unraced

136.4 Bd Silver Mania (2 yr. old) rced 1 tourney

The others are all in tourneys. I will need to borrow Uncle Shotgun when they are done....lol. I am getting rid of all 1 turn sprinters as those races playout like an arcade game. I will use these 3 horses to work on my training skillls. Anyone who wants to take a crack at helping me train these 3 horses, let me know and I will send you the dat file.

Thanks,

Bigdog,

. Don't be so tough on yourself... It is not you.. I think the game has been getting totally out of hand.. It started with the so-called peak races and gotten worse. Here's one of my races that I found very interesting...

http://horseracegame.com/community/races/152511/161694

This was a prelim 9.5f Fast Dirt for 3yo and up. In which my horse exceeded it's BSR and got 4th place. 1st and 2nd place horses both broke 130 sr... Sounds like G3 right ?? Well it's not .. It's a Blue Restricted for under 121 BSR... IMHO a horse with a BSR of 121 or less winning a race with an SR of 133 IS NOT a peak race, it is down right inflated. How can anyone train and prepare their horse for races that are completely unpredictable... The horses are all running inconsistantly. My horse won it's previous race in that same tournament by exceeding it's own BSR by 22... The realism has always been what made this game so addictive... It has became totally unrealistic.

HRF seems to be more interested in getting the pages to load faster while the actual racing and the game itself ( IMHO ) goes to hell in a handbasket... I've about had enough too.

You are not a bad trainer.Training is overrated in this game.We are not racing real horses. The horses are run according to a computer program. With computer programs anything can and will happen.Performances are inconsistent and you need a lot of luck in the races. As I have mentioned previously this game is a lottery.Luck plays an important role in breeding and what happens in races with the jockey ai.I have reduced my team and will continue to play with a small team.I will be retiring 50 horses in the next 2/3 weeks .Horses that do not win finals will be retired.Breeding will be put on hold as I was getting horses with bsr 108 or less.bsr 90 races do not seem to be filling.I have had that many tournaments cancelled in recent weeks.Where are the horses?Too many pool horses are winning by 10+ lengths in blues and greens thus robbing paying trainers of wins.Pool horses-Beyond the limits and diva dan in particular are almost unbeatable.

Sorry

1 win out of 100 wouldn't make me happy either. When the new update first came out I was having problems too. It's not that the new game is whacked, It's just we as trainers need to adjust to it. In the past two days I have placed 4th or better in 13 of 17 races with 3 of those being wins.

Remember when the performance reports were all different for your horses workouts at first? What I have found through trial and error is some of the new reports are right for your old horses and some are wrong. The old ones are right for some. I know I know they say the workouts only count for 2% of the horses race but I don't buy it.

Plus the performance reports star system seems off in areas. I have had a 2 star courage horses DAT file have a 5 for courage and a 4 star stamina have 9900.

My response

First, let me respond to low birth speed rated horses. That's just BS. I've actually posted the percentages of birth speed rated horses bred over the last week. I then compared those numbers going back the last month and even further. Though there's a fluctuation up and down, in the end, the average has been very consistent. These numbers include all horses being bred and vetted. Breeding horses is based on a lot of factors - parent traits, hot combinations and other factors, as well. There are weeks when breeding is on fire. There are other weeks where it seems to be cold. In the end, the averages live up and the numbers from the last week fall right in line with those numbers.

SR less than 80 (0.57 %)
SR between 80 to 90 (4.42 %)
SR between 90 to 100 (17.74 %)
SR between 100 to 110 (20.53 %)
SR between 110 to 120 7 (42.5 %)
SR between 120 to 130 (11.47 %)
SR between 130 to 140 (2.07 %)
SR between 140 to 150 (0.040 %)

Next, I want to discuss the training factor. Evaluating horses is a major part of this game. Even in real racing, the best trainers in the world win between 20% and 25% - and they're the best in the world. In our game, it's a little less than that. The reason is there are many players who have perfected the game, keep breeding and breeding and it creates enormous competition among a group of players. So, what looks like randomization is just a lot of good horses being classified correctly by a lot of good players racing against each other. In the real world, a good horse can cost you half-a-million dollars. In our game, it's $2.50. In other words, it's easy to breed, make a mistake and breed again until you have a quality stable. Even with that said, great horses are still being bred and with the right trainer they excel. There are plenty of them out there.

As far as horses changing form all of a sudden, it happens every day in the real world. Every horse in our game has a peak form for racing, a consistency cycle and a courage rating. Just like in real racing, a horse can win five in a row and then be done for the rest of his career - or, go in and out of form - or, start out slow and become a better horse as he gets older. Then there are those exceptionally few horses that have great careers in our game, win races and tournaments (as long as they are properly placed throughout their entire career). Welcome to racing.

Running style changing in 3 hrs of training

Mr puddles, good info. On the horses form changing, does running styles change too in a matter of 3 hrs in training him on sat? Never have seen this while training any of my horses. For instance, going from far back to win and now goes to the lead and wears out.
