Mike talked with Blackghost directly, so just to update others who may have the same issue:
Since some recent backend changes a few users have a problem where they are treated like not being logged in while being logged in.
It may not be immediately obvious since they can still access many of the features, but for some features like when trying to buy points or access certain VIP functionality they get an Access Denied page shown as if not logged in.
Those users then also can't use the desktop client fully as the same issue is up there, too making some buttons not show up.
The team will work on addressing it as quickly as possible.
