It almost seems the sight is getting slower instead of faster.....Over the past 2 days anyway.

I'm 99.9 % sure my i7 gaming machine and 30k/download connection isn't the problem.

It is very frustrating

I want you to know that Iโ€™m approaching it from two different angles.

The first angle I going to do nothing and hopefully you all will forget about it. In the case that doesn't work I will be then forced to use a different angle.

The second angle I will attempt to get Fatass on top of a mountain and push him off. To insure I am successful I will be dropping twinkies every few feet up the mountain. Once Fatass is gone the site speed should dramatically improve.

Fatass has been using 50% of the resources on this site. Everytime he shoves a twinkie in his mouth the site has to slow down so it can process that garbage correctly. Enough time has passed and several attempts to force him to curve his eating habits while he is on this site has failed.

I will spare no expense to remove Fatass! I do not have the ability to push him off the mountain so I will be hiring a demolition crew to handle this task for me. They may have to blow his Fatass off the moutain if there unable to push him off and this is totally acceptable to me.

Thanks for your patience. Have a great weekend!

JB

Site Speed

The site seems faster at times which is a good thing. At night however it has been painfully slow, last night it was working fast and then I click to watch a race and I get kicked to the drupal blue page. Some pages at night are taking 2-3 mins. to load. But overall since July 24th the site is a lot faster.

The site has been slower than

The site has been slower than in the past few days yesterday and even has been offline a few times for a couple of minutes at a time since there have been updates to the site made in the background in between.
Those were to have changes to the stable summary page with the color coding highlighting and other things.
So overall site speed should be back to usual again now (which is a good bit faster than on launch of the new community but still not to all our liking fast hence still being worked on to improve it).
The team tries to keep noticeable downtime/the site being even slower than usual states to a minimum during updates but in between that is not fully avoidable while parts of the site are being worked on or replaced in the background.
So as summary: When you see a site is offline drupal info page, and yes, we try to keep you having to see that to a minimum, thatยดs usually because something is being updated there right now and it should be back to usual quickly and the site then usually have some of the improvements users asked for afterwards =)
If it would be a special other case where maintenance work takes longer Mike would let you know via pm, a news update or other way ahead of the maintenance if possible in any way =)

@stevic11:
I sent you another pm a few minutes ago, not sure if you have already seen it.
In your case you were particularly unlucky in basically getting a half loaded web player and half loaded stable page file cached during all those updating procedures.
Hence then you first not being able to view any realtime web 3d content anymore and then now since you and me together finally sticked through getting the player installed properly again for you and you can watch races again now, whatยดs left to do is clear your browser cache so your half loaded stable file gets removed and on next reload of the site your browser downloads the stable page file fully again.
Then, finally you should be able to watch all well again.
Sorry for the extra cumbersome steps you had to go through but its not the same as "usual" slow loading times of the site the others are talking about.
