I recently got in this game after a very long time of trying to get in,so was very excited when I did.after the first horse I bred, that I still have in pending,I bred another horse that I received and wanted to race the horse as soon as possible.while still learning the game I spotted a race and put my horse in,I then found a better spot for my horse and scratched her, along with another I bred in the same manner, thinking all along my points would be returned, only to find out they weren't.its hard enough to get points while still learning this game, but to make a honest mistake and to lose points is a very hard lesson.when this game is all about points.love the aspect of the game but shouldn't punish players while we all are learning the game and bettering the game.a 1100 points may not seem much to some players here, but to me it just keeps me out of races and the breeding shed that I sure would like to be in.
LOL
I'm new here also, and learned this the hard way yesterday when I scratched from a Blue Restricted tourney. Did you sign up for the student program? Mentors and other experienced members are helpful for things like this, and I heard that you also get points for signing up.
Happy Racing!
I need a Sugar Daddy too.
Are you available, JB?
It's hard to lose those points from scratching your horse. After you do it a few times you say %$#$%&%@!!!!!!!!!! Or what I hate is you totally screw up in training. Then you enter your horse in a race, then realize It's in the wrong distance. So you scratch it cause you figure why pay for the prelims and lose even more points.
This might not have happened.
Honest mistake, but real horses don't don't get refunds if they scratch, and this is close to real. Seriously, get a mentor, or deal with the frustration that comes.
Don
thats right. REAL horse owners and trainers search around the country looking for the best races to put their horses into. its called an ENTRY FEE. if you scratch your horse you don't get it back. EVER.before you sign up for any races you better do your home work.make sure it can go the distance . i made some mistakes too. putting unseasoned horses in races they had no bussiness being in.i'm to stubborn to scratch them.realize that was a waste.so i'll try to pick up a few earnings $$ for my trobles.count it as a lesson learned.to do this game justice you have to be in for the long haul.build and learn.but thats just me.
I understand how you feel about those points I was lucky to win my first tournament and get some points but ever since then I have been struggling to get enough points. I say just try to find the right tournament and hope for the best cause thats the only way you will get some points.
I know what you mean silky, but all new players are more than directed to read the help files and tutorials before they place there points (money) on the line. If you never played poker before and didn't know what a flush was, and you folded a hand that had one, you wouldn't honestly expect to pull your bets back out of the pot would you? Lets face it Silky the burned hand teaches best. And just as an FYI, 1100 points is the same value for every body big and small. Especially large outfits that must watch wasting any points.Big barns require large operating budgets. Take note that not only do you lose your fee's when you scratch, but your horse ages also and if the scratch is an insta tournament it counts towards the 3 insta tournaments you get per year and can limit your choices afterwards.
I dont think you can ever scratch from an insta.
1) Get a mentor 2) I'm sure if you email support and explain they will reimburse you.
3) there is always a warning when you scratch out of a tourney that your points are non refundable.
