The Santa Anita course is not done well at all. There is no sense of "downhill" and you never cross over the dirt course. If you don't think that the sensation of downhill is possible in a video game then you have never played Gallop Racer. If you are going to do it then do it right.

You have to remember this is very much a labor of love for the programmers. Yes, they do get money for their product, but speaking for what I hope is the majority of users here, we would much rather prefer getting a game that accurately represents the horses in question as opposed to absolute graphical accuracy. Yes, it would be great if all of the courses were accurately represented down to the last detail, but that not as important as the gameplay itself. Where did Gallop Racer have accurate tracks--or horses, for that matter? Be patient; I've played this game for years and the people who make it are good people.
I have receiced 7 emails (PM) from people that love that dream race. It was free!!! Please be kind. We are 5 guys working 18 hours a day into this project(FOR NO MONEY). To All the VIP users thank you for the support(YOU WILL BE REWARDED) . Everyone else please be patient and help us grow by buying files and or being a VIP .
We love feeeback and a lot of it will come into play. I can tell you this, me and my partners spent 3 hours on the phone going threw all the up coming improvments ........We are going to build the best game ever (this will be the number 1 horse racing game around by far ) We are going after not just horse race game players but also people that love action and action sports game .
I also know that gallop racer has not partnered with the real horse racing industry and does not produce the quality content for the community like we have in our horse racing game. in time it will all be there
THANK YOU ALL FOR PLAYING OUR HORSE RACING GAME
I've been around real horse racing and handicapping for YEARS..more than I care to admit. And to me the horse's true and accurate attributes and abilities are much more important (meaning real horses not kiddie games where you can play in god mode and stuff). I've played all the way back to Intellivision and have seen the evolution of gaming. I feel this one represents the sport much more than the others. They are just playful fantasies of the sport but this to me has much more realism.
Gallop racer has this ridiculous sound over, cryptic guides and you can run 200 miles per hour down the stretch whipping the horse 200 times. Now THAT is ridiculous if you want to talk reality.
Here's an Exact Quote on the bad for that game....which yes I'm biased - i played it and hated it.
Gallop Racer - The Bad
* Extremely unintuitive interface
* High learning curve
* No dedicated wagering mode
* Actual horse racing is woefully dull.
As far as I'm concerned this program, the community, the videos and podcasts and best of all simulations of real thoroughbred horses are awesome. I'm sold!
everyone is entitled to their opinion....and you cant be everything to everyone. I think the comparison to Gallop racer is ineviatable (sorry for the spelling), but not a good one.
People who create sims often face comparisons to the video game cousins....and to see HRF getting the same kind of conversation is good, but not apples to apples. I consider HRF a stat sim at heart which for the first time is making the cross over to action sports game....quite impressive.
Front Office Football to Madden
OOTP to Triple Play or any EA baseball game
Football Manager to FIFA world cup
HRF and Gallop Racer
You cant make the comparison to twitch game. Authenticity is not the strong point of most Console games. I may have a greater appreciation becuase like many I have seen the evolution of the interface and this understanding gives me extreme confidence in the direction this team is going. Sure some things need work but so does everything.
I can't see how that small issue would be a problem. I had fun running the race 3 times because each time it came down to the last few jumps. This is a great game and it continues to grow. Thanks for the race!
whos been winning on your sim's? love dayjur, think he was better on dirt though
You people need to learn your games. Gallop Racer has more real horses and more real courses in it then this game can dream of. Secretariat, Affirmed, Easy Goer, Lady's Secret, etc. They are all in Gallop Racer. They just have name changes in the American version because of copyright laws. They also have real tracks including the twin spires of Churchill Downs. Get real people.
Dayjur has been doing good on mine aswell. But I've been using Miesque and just got up to win by a nose twice.
Every horse in our game is modeled after real race horses. We have a different buss plan then that game company you talk about. We are here to help Americian racing . We have spent a ton of time and money to work with the horse racing industry to help create a education platform. We are not here as just a game but to create a community driven by horse racing industry leaders to help" edutain" current and new fans about horse racing .
We have so much stuff in the works that I can not disclose yet. We work with the biggest horse racing event in the world THE BREEDERS CUP. We also work with many race tracks here in the U.S. I am sure that other company makes a nice game but thats not our plan.I wish I could say but I have over 10 NDA's out there with some of the biggest names in the sport.
Over the next 60 days we have so much to show ..I AM SO EXCITED .I am excited not for me but for the current members of this community that will be able to say they were here early on.
By the way . we will be showing over 1000 non US champion race horses by early July .
More U.S. champion race horses will be ready by monday. Barbaro anyone?
