As a long time player here on HRF, there is a somewhat misconception into BSR's and what BSR can win a general tournament. Some players do not believe that horses under 130BSR are going to be able to compete and it doesnt take a 130+ BSR to be able to win a general. This month, my highest ever BSR horse Lucky Sunrise has been the only horse over 130 to win a general so dont be discouraged by the BSR. Heres the last 7 winners for me just to prove its possible to win with a 125 - 130.
Zealous Knight 128.3
Zodiac Cadilac 125.6
Winner Take All 127.5
Aguilera 125.6
Lucky Sunrise 142.2
Swift Finale 128.6
Dirty Money 125.7
Some of these horse are multiple general winners, so my advice is to watch carefully how your horses train and enter them accordingly. I would estimate that 75% of my General winners are able to compete in Blues. Good Luck.
i believe to micmac and gosuper..some horses at this level below 130 can compete in the low general tourney
this horse is under 130 BSR

last week was with a 127.5. After this it gave me the confidence to try a few of my -130's in Generals. Mixed results but I soon know which ones can handle it and which ones can't.
Good to see the 125's winning, not saying to enter them in high level generals. There are many tournys if chosen right.
Some 125's to 130s can compete in G3 generals. As a matter of fact I have one going against Zodiac Cadillac that starts tonight.

For me its been 8 months since I had a 120's horse win a general. I also find it difficult to win a general with the average 130's horse. Some of these horses cant even win a prelim.
I think the other thread about low 130's cant win is some what accurate. Most of the horses I been retiring heve been low 130's to mid 130's. There is only 1 winner per prelim and 1 winner per final so not every horse can win. So are jobs as trainers is to weed out the losers. LOL
So 120's & up can win in the generals if your lucky enough to breed the correct ones and enter them correctly. But really 90% or higher the horses breed are worthless.
<<<<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>>>> STOP CLAIMIMG MY UNDER 130S SO I CAN RUN THEM !!! LOL LAST NITE GENERAL WINNER "ADVENTURISTIC" 129.6..............................................................I WON A GR1 W/ A CLAIM "DIRTY GIRL" 130 FLAT! SO U CAN WIN LIKE THE MACSTER SAID! LOOK AND SEE WHO THEY RUN AGAINST IN THE PAST TOO , THAT HELPS OUT ALOT I DID THAT W/ A HORSE CALLED' VICTORY KING" THAT I HAVE BEST CLAIM IVE EVER MADE!!!!! it can happen, right know i have one accu weather coming off a g-3 final win, moved him up to a g-1 tourie ,
so far she 2 for 4 in the prelims accu weather is only a 127 bsr it can happen with the right horse
I'm still fairly new around here. I have two General wins and one was 125.7 and the other was 128.4. I also have a few 2nds and 3rd's in Generals with sub 130 horses. In fact, I think I only have two placings with horses over 130. Overall, they have proven to be nothing special. So the notion that you need a 130+ to win a General is totally false.
My 126.1 hasn't run in the money in a final yet for the General's, keep trying her out at all her liked distances/surfaces and hoping to hit the sweet spot soon. My 133.6 has only managed a 4th in a General Final.
On a side note micmac, in the G3 Savoogna Fun tourny I just saw the first race we're in together against a bunch of pool horses. Good luck!
Yep good post by micmac. Definitely some 125 to 129s can compete and win in Generals. The key is to train them and determine their abillities. I know exceptional 125s and 129s are few and far between but they are out there. Make sure you train them. You may find a good one. Here is one of my stars in my stable.
