Just joined HRF yesterday and Im looking for a mentor to help me out. I have a couple questions I can start out with here.
How do I start training a very general and open ended horse report. This seems overwhelming given how many tracks and types there are. My horse prefers dirt, turf and sand!
If I start with 0 pts but a free horse, how do I enter a race without having to buy community pts?
I would really appreciate some input on these general questions while I attempt to find a mentor who can be the sole victim of all my other inquisitions! Thanks

Start here

Getting a mentor is a great first step, the other thing that helped me a ton is go to http://www.fantasyhorseracingnews.com/cliff-notes-to-the-trainer-game/ and read it. It is a great overview of what you need.

As far as community points you can become a vip or do a lot of free point offers like I did. It is time consuming but there are some worth a lot of points like netflix or blockbuster. The surveys are good too.

Make sure you bet or ride

Make sure you bet or ride everyday to get you 1000 points. That will get you 30,000 points a month. It cost 14,5000 points for a blue tournament and 3000 points for a green tournament not to mention at the end of 30 days you have 10,000 points in stable fee's per horse. Get yourself a good mentor that can explain everything in depth. Its a great game and lots of fun. Good Luck.
