I've heard about people switching gender on their horse just to get a lower weight. Are M's and F's equal in speed and power on average or are M's faster like in real life. Otherwise an F would be the way to go everytime.
If your horse carries weight well it really doesn't matter.. I have found as a general rule that Fs dominate at younger ages (with the weight break) but Ms dominate later in age.. So the weight break maybe an early advantage but could actually hurt in the longrun.

In my experience females are just as fast (in this game) as the males so the advantage is the lower weight. Freda
