This is kind of a strange question but here goes. Friday before the stakes I'm going to Belmont to look at two horses that are currently available for sale being housed there. Now I don't want to show up dressed to the nines just to flaunt that I have enough money to buy these horses. I don't want to look like an idiot in 3 inch heels and a cocktail dress strutting down the shed rows with my Gucci bag hooked over my arm. I don't own a Gucci bag but that was just for sarcasms sake, because we know we've all seen those wealthy women at the race track fretting over getting a piece of dirt on their expensive clothing.

On the other hand, I don't want to look like a raggamuffin and show up in my barn attire. I want the seller to take me seriously. The fact I even contacted him about these colts should be proof enough I can drop the dough on these animals but what would be the correct attire to where when meeting a seller of two expensive equine athletes? Flaunt the money or dress comfortably to be around horses? I'd like to go comfortably but don't know if this would be "professional" enough.

Dress 4 comfort

In real estate it is never the guy in a suit that buys the house, it is the guy who dresses like doesnt give a xxxx because he knows he has the money and that is all that matters.

Sound

No offense, but I don't think you or anyone else here has any right to tell Autumn, or anyone else for that matter, what they're ready or not ready to do.

I wasn't sure what to expect

I wasn't sure what to expect on this forum lol. I'll just chuckle at half the comments and ignore the others. However Sound, what makes you say I'm not ready to purchase a race horse? Is it because I'm young, female and play this game? Is it because I asked how to dress when approaching someone selling a racehorse? Do you think that I can't afford it?

I realize I didn't want to go to the Belmont and spend $600 on seating, but mind you I was paying for the entire party. I may not be a millionaire but I assure you I can afford both horses I inquired about. I would not be meeting with someone if I couldn't. I've spent my entire life around horses and held jobs in the pacing horse industry and have owned Standardbreds. Maybe I'm not in my 30's-40's and can tote along a few decades of experience to shove in people's faces. I know horses, I know what I want in a racehorse and I know the industry better than a lot of people my age. I may not know this game but I am undoubtedly confident in my abilities with horses in the real world. I am just new to Thoroughbred ownership and was unsure if things were run a little differently when going to view horses at a track, I have always purchased my pacers through private sales at family run farms.

Now, before you say I am not ready to own a racehorse please state valid points as to why that is, and do not take this personally, I am just extremely curious as to what would make someone say that.

Because this is what he does. He misleads. He seeks trouble. He judges.
He got caught again. Don't worry. After the update is complete, this individual will be addressed.
No doubt about it.
